My wife and I were first time homebuyers searching for our first home when we happened to find Emily. She was the first realtor we met - so we feel we hit the jackpot when we hit that button to set up our first tour and ended up meeting her. Very responsive and professional realtor. She is also very knowledgeable. She seamlessly worked with my mortgage company on obtaining multiple financing qualifications. She tailored every offer for me (and there were at least 5). She deftly worked through all of the contract details and caught things that would be detrimental to my offer. She also took me on at least 20 house showings. At each one, she would note what I liked or didn’t liked. Then she would tailor the showings to the ones I might like. There were a few bidding wars, but Joyce kept up with the pace and stayed in contact with the sellers agent to put me in the best position for the bid. Finding a home is stressful, so many options. Will you have to settle for something less? Will you even find something? Should you just give up and try later? Chris Pavlin and the Design Realty team did a fantastic job helping us to sell our house. They helped us with suggestions regarding what to replace/repair prior to sale, put us in contact with contractors that could help us make those changes, and helped in the final preparation of the house for sale. This gave us confidence that we were doing the things necessary to sell the house and to get the best price for it. This was especially important to us, as we had moved out-of-state and had to do much of this remotely. Finally, the house was staged and it was listed for sale. Chris and his team kept us continually apprised of interest levels and sales progress. The market listing was posted on a Thursday afternoon, and by Friday evening we had TWO legitimate offers! A short bidding war was negotiated by Chris into the evening on Friday, resulting in an even better sales price. Chris is our agent buying a condo in Bellevue, Seattle, You may be surprised, I actually never meet Chris, in person! My wife went to Seattle looking for a condo by herself! We met David Cho in August at the beginning of our home search and he has shown us potential homes almost every weekend. We found the perfect realtor for our mom’s move to independent living. Our 92-year-old mother lived in a beautiful high-rise condominium in downtown Bellevue. She loved living there until she and her husband could no longer safely drive. Once we sold their cars, they felt trapped. Without the freedom to drive, their beautiful condo with fantastic views lost its luster and they felt somewhat alienated among their primarily younger building neighbors. My wife and sister asked our mom to tour with them to see some independent living communities around the east side. Our mother reluctantly agreed to go along. They looked at several communities before stopping in for a tour of the Watermark Independent Living Community in downtown Bellevue. Once our mom toured this beautiful new facility, she fell in love with it. She immediately put down a deposit on a unit with an amazing view and large deck. Now they’ve been there two months, and I could go on and on about how much she and her husband love being there and all the new friends they have met, but this is a review about an amazing realtor. First, I want to preface this review by saying I have a very good friend that has sold more north Lake Washington waterfront property than anyone else for over 30 years and I would always give him priority with any of my real estate dealing. However, Watermark recommended Laura Henderson, and our mom liked her. So, we gave Laura a thorough interview. After we talked with her and heard about how she was recommended by Watermark because of how she works with elderly people that may have the majority of their financial worth wrapped up in their homes. She has made it her mission to try to help these seniors to retain as much from their equity as they can. These are the things Laura told us she would do for our mom and her husband. • Arrange for a space planner to meet with our mom to determine what will fit in the new smaller space and what needs to be donated or disposed of. • Arrange for everything that will be moved to the new unit to be packed up and labeled.• Arrange for family and friends to take whatever is not going to be moved then donate what is left or dispose of it.• Replace the carpets, repaint the walls.• The movers moved our mom and her husband and set everything up while she and her husband stayed two days in a guest suite in the Watermark, without having to lift a finger in the move.• Stage the condo with furniture and fixtures that are conducive to a potential buyer being able to envision what their furniture would look like. • Arrange and provide marketing photos and list the property. On my wedding day, I’ll look at my bride through her veil and whisper sweetly, “This is the second best day of my life!” The first, of course, being the day Laura Henderson was assigned to us randomly through Zillow. As late millennials who didn’t come from families overly involved in erm…financial literacy, we didn’t know you could choose your broker and that they all came with different levels of competency. We kind of just assumed everyone had a realtor in the family or someone they kind of knew and you scratched each other’s backs once or twice in your life. Now that we know her, we will never not choose her when buying/selling a house ever again. (If it were in her business model, there’s very few things I wouldn’t bring to Laura and ask her help with.)Laura is everything you want in a broker and more because as a non-broker, you don’t know how out of depth you are. Sure, she's friendly, timely, attentive, detail oriented, knowledgeable, and experienced, but what professional in a service industry isn’t? We couldn’t have located and purchased the condo that we wanted without the professional guidance of our buying agent Adair. He began by using his detailed knowledge of the local housing market to guide us through extensive house tours. He brought an experienced inspector, who redflagged one property that we bid on, which saved us from making a serious mistake (we would have had to tear up most of the walls of the property). He wouldn’t let us be discouraged and help us identify another property and, once the inspector gave us the go ahead, he supported us through the complex process of obtaining a mortgage, working with title/escrow company, and signing the final papers. My apologies in advance for the length of this review. We don't normally write them, but in this case, it is absolutely warranted. Adair was nothing short of amazing! No joke: he literally helped us get into the Unicorn home of our dreams (and we didn't think it existed or was possible for that matter)! It was just happenstance that we were connected thru Zillow. My wife Orfa & I have been married for 27 years, but we were actually 1st time home buyers. Adair connected with us (almost instantaneously it seemed) and initially asked if I knew the property we were looking at on Zillow (and the one I had somewhat reluctantly entered my contact info for) in Kenmore was actually situated in a 55 + community. We did not! We had been looking/daydreaming semi-seriously for a time but didn't even have an agent yet. I have a good friend whose sister is a real estate agent, but we just had a positive feeling/vibe from Adair. He initially got a One Home profile set up for us with some of our parameters and off we went! Adair is a younger guy, but he really knows his stuff. Any questions we had (and a lot we hadn't even thought about asking) regarding HOA's, special assessments, manufactured homes on deeded land, etc. Adair knew/is extremely well versed (and well connected). He always had prompt answers, even when he had to reach out to other listing agents for clarification. His patience and flexibility with us regarding making himself available (many times with short to little notice) to view properties was, we believe, unparalleled/matched! As we ourselves didn't have a great handle on exactly what we were looking for, Adair was patient and kind. The 1st place we looked at was a 2 bedroom 1 and half bath condo in Everett (off of Casino Rd; not the greatest area in town) on short notice. We quickly realized it was not going to work for us. My wife had already found another property in Bothell she wanted us to check out (it was like she had OCD when it came to the home search/buying process) before we had even finished the walk thru. Without missing a beat, Adair said let's go take a look. And we did. Unfortunately, the property already had an offer. But the fact that he was willing to even accommodate us was incredible. Another thing we would like to say/have known is that we are not (if there is such a thing) the stereotypical Western Washington home buyer. I left a great job in order to return to school as a full-time student, and my wife is holding down the fort so to speak for the next year or so on a single income. So, suffice it to say we were not in the market for a multi-million-dollar home. I was very self-conscious about this, but Adair made it very clear it was about the service provided and relationship moving forward rather than the price of the home we were looking for! This was made evident as we trekked all over King County, from townhomes in Kent to manufactured homes in Renton, to condos-townhomes-manufactured homes in Bothell, Lynnwood, Everett, and even Marysville in Snohomish County! And we did this at all hours of the day, and different days of the week. Between my school schedule, and my wife working a grave shift I'm not sure how Adair juggled it. But he did and did so with grace....and no pressure. Never did we once feel any pressure to make a decision on the spot, or without going home and marinating on what we had seen. Ultimately, we found our Unicorn in Bothell:) It was like Orfa & I just floated thru the home on the 1st visit. It was during an open house, but we knew immediately that it was the one! We told Adair that we wanted to make an offer (and try not to get our hopes up & crushed in the process). We met for a Zoom call a few hours later, and Adair patiently & painstakingly went over the offer and all it entailed. He absolutely kept us grounded. Our offer was accepted!! Between Adair, our Loan Officer's assistant with our bank, and the Title company, home inspection, escrow, and closing seemed very smooth. Adair was extremely responsive via text, email, and even the old-fashioned phone call throughout the entire home buying process. We cannot say enough good things about Adair. He is knowledgeable, hungry and motivated, and completely present and engaged. As a matter of fact, Orfa has a co-worker who has heard about our super positive experience with Adair (she and her husband did not have the same experience with their real estate agent) and will be using him to help sell their home and buy a new one in the future. Not to mention the fact that Adair had a few goodies for us after closing & getting our keys:) Just showing his continued commitment to go above and beyond. Where do I even begin? Alan is quite unique: he’s very sociable but not chummy like many in his profession, extremely responsive but never pushy, caring in a genuine way, and very resourceful and well connected. It’s terrifying how good he is for someone in his mid twenties. My wife and I loved working with him. He knew our schedule was unpredictable because of our newborn so he would drive from Ballard to Lake City to see a house with a two hour notice.
